Chiefs State They Are Aware of Alleged Abuse Allegations Connected to Wide Receiver the Athlete

The NFL franchise released a comment on Wednesday evening indicating they are aware of domestic violence allegations made public in social media posts by a former girlfriend of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.

The team omitted the name of the player by name in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Allegations Shared on Social Media

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, shared a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones stated the individual in question was the father of her children, and reports indicate she has two children with Rice, whom the team selected in the 2023 draft.

Official Complaints Reportedly Not on File

No official complaints were on file in the Kansas City suburb where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.

Rice's Recent Legal Issues

Rice was absent for the initial part of this season following an league-mandated ban for his role in instigating a crash on a Dallas highway that left multiple people hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and five years’ probation after pleading guilty to serious offenses.

On the field, Rice concluded the year with 53 catches for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Kansas City finished with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first occasion in a decade.
