Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, according to an announcement.

An official for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish any new titles by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an investigation into reports of conduct deemed unsuitable involving women.

The company did not confirm the specific rationale behind the move, adding: "We do not comment on confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams is one of the UK's most successful children's authors, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins in 2008.

A number of his works, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes in excess of 40 works in total, which features a Christmas book titled *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

From Screen to Page

His career breakthrough occurred on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE back in 2017 honoring his contributions to the charitable sector and arts community.

This development follows the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's recent CEO in October.
