Countless Join Pro-Palestinian Protests as Coordinators Promise to Continue Demonstrating

Tens of thousands have rallied throughout the country at pro-Palestinian protests, with coordinators vowing to continue protesting after a truce agreement brokered by Donald Trump in Gaza showed early signs of stability.

Sydney Protest Draws Large Crowd

In the harbor city, the pro-Palestine organization claimed thirty thousand participants had protested from Hyde Park to a nearby green space in the central business district after a intended demonstration to the iconic venue was prohibited by the state judicial body in recent days.

NSW police approximated a crowd of 8,000 joined the Sydney protest, with a spokesperson reporting there had been "minimal disturbances".

Countrywide Protests Commemorate Date

Demonstrations were also held in Victoria's capital, eastern city and west coast metropolis on the weekend to remember two years of killing in Gaza after Hamas attacks on October 7th, 2023 killed about 1,200 people in the region.

"Regarding our cause, we'll absolutely continue to advocate for liberation... for local governance, for humanitarian assistance to enter and for residents to restore their communities," stated an activist.

Varied Responses to Truce Arrangement

Many protesters voiced optimism that the truce might bring permanent peace. Others were sceptical of American participation and called on activists to continue urging the national authorities to apply measures and stop arms transactions.

One protester, a Palestinian Australian based in Australia, said he hoped the agreement would allow him to reunite with his aging parent, who is still in Gaza without medical attention, to Australia, and to discover and lay to rest his family members, who have been unaccounted for since that year.

Jewish Australians Holds Commemoration

Meanwhile, thousands attended a Jewish memorial service on Sunday night in Sydney's eastern suburbs to mark the second anniversary of 7 October. Geoffrey Majzner, the family member of someone affected, an Australian citizen who was deceased in the incident, was arranged to talk.

There were prayers for the imminent repatriation of 20 remaining hostages in the territory and those killed on 7 October. The diplomatic representative, the official, paid tribute to the determination of those affected. The participants reacted negatively when he spoke about the head of government and the foreign minister.

Flotilla Participants Share Experiences

The city's demonstration earlier featured addresses including multiple nationals let go from imprisonment after the interception of the Sumud flotilla recently.

A participant, his injured limb after it was said to be harmed in an detention facility, shared that insufficient information was available about the truce arrangement. International aid organisations, including Unrwa and Unicef, were getting ready to access the territory.

"As long as there is a situation where there's a brutal and illegal blockade on the territory," stated the activist, maritime demonstrators would keep working to deliver aid by sea.

Abubakir Rafiq, who came back to the city on recently, gave an moving testimony describing his detention with dozens of fellow detainees in a detention facility.

Political Statements

The political representative Jenny Leong informed attendees: "It's unacceptable to permit a reality where the former president decides the outcome for Palestinian communities to be the nature of existence we tolerate."

Another organiser who made the first proposal to demonstrate at the famous location claimed that the demonstrators might have securely proceeded to the famous harbourside venue. The law enforcement official had previously stated the court of appeal that the plan had "disaster written all over it".

The activist said on Sunday: "On each occasion the law enforcement seeks to prevent our protests or legal challenges, it wakes up a lot of people... to the necessity to organize and resist these measures."
