Updated Title Badges Offer Clear Identification

A key standout improvements involves new icons that appear above a game card, differentiating whether that title is an original Nintendo Switch version, Switch 2, or online version.

This addition has been positively viewed by users, with many commending it as a "nice touch" that helps render the menu seem more interactive.

Upgraded Friend Search and Voice Chat Options

While locating players to add as a friend, the Locate Gamers You've Met feature under Friend Requests now incorporates individuals you've chatted with in your buddies' voice channels.

With respect to GameChat, several improvements have been implemented:

  • Your software will not put itself to sleep while chatting.
  • A feature to disable “Chat Audio Panning” was included.
  • Chat remains active if the system switches from connected mode to portable or flat mode, particularly if this scenario leads to the connection transitioning from a cable link to a Wi-Fi one.

Streamlined Content Acquisition and Input Device Audio Settings

While acquiring various titles simultaneously, you now have the option to halt every install with one button press.

With Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller players, a fresh fast-response sound setting is introduced, enabling you to opt for between “Stable” or “Low Latency” modes.

Low Latency lowers audio latency compared to “Stable” but might be more subject to problems in certain untethered setups.

Virtual Game Card Information Acquisition Enhancement

Another key change lets you to download content for a downloadable software even if the “Use Online License” setting is deactivated.

This feature is available in the Menu of a downloadable software when opened via Virtual Game Cards from the main screen.

Extra System Enhancements

Apart from these prominent changes, the update includes various additional enhancements:

  • User support changes: Voice reading will speak predictive conversion letters on the Japan layout, and the narration rate upper limit got raised from 300% to four hundred percent.
  • Screen options: High Dynamic Range is now called to “System Screen’s HDR Output,” and image fitting has become easier to adjust.
  • Messages updates: The feature "Platinum Point Notification” was renamed to "Nintendo Switch Online Notification."
  • Device options: Charging handling features “Stop Charging Around 80-90%” replacing the former “Stop Charging Around 90%” feature.
  • Language availability: Thailand's language and Poland's language were added to the range of available locales, though they are only usable in titles that include the respective locale.
  • System-wide reliability improvements to improve the user's experience.
